DepMi operates a secure escrow system powered by our payment gateway partners (including Paystack). This policy details how payments, escrow releases, cancellations, and refunds are handled on the platform.
When a buyer makes a payment for an item or bid, the funds are debited from the buyer but are NOT immediately sent to the seller. Instead, the funds are held securely in an escrow settlement hold account by our licensed payment processor.
Funds are released from escrow and paid out to the seller's linked bank account under the following conditions:

Since buyer payments are locked in escrow, refunds for paid orders are reviewed and processed manually by the DepMi administration team to protect both parties. Once approved, the refund is released back to the buyer's original payment method (card or bank transfer) and typically reflects within 5–7 business days.
Note: Payment gateway processing charges (fees charged by third-party processors like Paystack for handling the card or bank transfer) are non-refundable once a transaction is processed, and may be excluded from the final refund amount depending on the cancellation reason.
If a package arrives and the item is broken, counterfeit, or materially different from the listing description, the buyer must click "Dispute Order" within 48 hours of receipt.
Once a dispute is raised, the escrow hold is locked. DepMi administrators will contact both parties to collect proof (e.g. shipping receipts, product photos, chat logs).
Once escrow funds are released and settled to the seller's bank account, the transaction is considered completed and final. DepMi is unable to claw back or refund settled transactions. Any post-settlement return or refund requests must be negotiated directly between the buyer and the seller under the seller's specific store return policy.
